what are the risks prior to a remap ??????????

i have a guff running a 20vt. i did a ko3s conversion on thursday and also fitted a 4 bar fpr. i am driving it around avoiding any load or boost on the engine. do you think driving it around till next thursday's revo stage 2 map would be ok ? i see no reason why not.

with the ko3 i had a dyno run of 161hp and 199 lbs of torque.

im hoping to hit over 200hp !!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh rubjohnny i read one of your posts the other day ditching the accumilator , does a 20vt not need it then ? i thought the accumilator laminated the fuel in which case was fairly important ? thanks

It's a Golf !!
Is this in a mk1 ?

Well if you have upped the fuel pressure then it will over fuel and run rich. Have you upped the pressure to allow greater fuel delivery from the same injectors ?

Isn't laminating something that you do to menus in restaurants !!

The accumulator is unique to the k-jet system, it helps to iron out pulses in the fuel as it is circulated around the car, also holds some pressure in the system to aid warm starting.
With an EFI system, it is not required.

When I say laminate basically smooths out the fuel from the pump , so I can ditch it then sweet !! As its rotten !!! I can't see it running to rich as the injector timing is Still the same , it does not back fire or any thing so it can't be too bad. Thanks for your reply. Yeah mk1 golf !!!

Depends on what the ECU is and whether it is running in closed loop mode by using signals from the lamdba probe to reduce the injector opening time due to more fuel passing through the injectors s with the increased fuel rail pressure.
Certainly from cold it will use more fuel as the amount injected relies purely on the injection map and engine tempo signals.

To be honest increasing the fuel pressure might not be needed if the injectors have enough capacity already to deliver the fuel for the larger turbo.

Yeah if its not misfiring at the moment then it should be okay. Obviously it won't be quite right, but not damaging. If its too rich it will waste fuel and if its too lean it will run hotter and miss out on about 10% of power. If it were misfiring then it might be due to being too lean which would cause more issues. Its not pinking is it?

ja the fuel rail and fpr does the job of the accumulator in regards to smoothing out fuel flow so it can go, it wont harm anythign if you keep it but if its rotten then time to bin!
