weber 40 dcoe problems help please (none vw sorry)
iv just fitted a set of weber 40's to my mates nova 1.3sr with a fuel king fuel pressure reg from demon tweaks and the car wont start not even fuel gettin in to the cylinders tryed adjusting the fuel pressure reg and every thing but it looks like it isn't even pumping fuel to the filter.
my first thought's where as the car is on nearly a 45degree angle on his drive and only has a fiver of fuel in it when we have taken the origional carb off the fuel has drained back in to the tank and because of how little fuel is in the tank the pick up pump is not reaching the fuel.
do you think this is the problem or does any one have any idea of what it could be?
the carbs have just came off another nova 1.3sr which ran fine.
cheers all gaz

Could very well be the problem by the way you describe things. If the carbs came of a running engine and the engine you are working on was also running, plus the angle and lack of fuel in the old carbs, sounds like the answer right now. You can use a small container with fuel connecter to the carb feed line to try and fire the engine. Just hold it up high enough for a gravity feed and try and start the engine. If it starts and runs then you just have to discover why no fuell is reaching the carbs then. That would be the empty fuel tank in the car sitting on a steep angle I think 8)
