On a serious note, why not ring around established VW Performance garages like Awesome, The Phirm, TSR, and see what they quote you when you ask about a VR6 into a Mk1. This will give a good indication. As some will know, I'm putting one in a VR6 but I wouldn't do it for anyone else, its a lot of work. Unless of course, there was an offer I couldn't refuse (and staged payments to back it up!).

this convertion depends hugely on how much you can do yourself or if you just want a turn key car.There are companies out there that will do you TK R32's for well under 10g's or R36's for 10+ into a mk1,,or pick up a donor and attempt yourself whats your wallet and wheres your skill level at
