throttle bodys

looking to put a bigger throttle body on my mk1 gti cab, its got a 1900 gti engineering engine in it…

i was looking at a mk2 16v one but cabrialuet (sorry cant spell your name) suggested an audi 100

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4653330198&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

would this be the one in question? and would it fit and be better than a mk2 16v?

Thanks

Dave

No , ive never used a 16v one , the mk2 8v and audi are identical on internal diameters . The mk2 one is bigger so u`ll need to ramp the inlet manifold to suit it and convert over the throttle linkage . shold keep u busy on a sunday !! Look in chat forum a few pages back for a thread call my lump of p** , its my cabby and there are phots in there . pm me if u get stuck n good luck  :D

what one have you put on your cab?

i was told the 16v one bolts straight on because its bigger, but the cars needs tuning up after??

As i say mate i cannot comment on a 16v bodie cos i have never done one . my hole engine is an exact copy of what tsr (when they existed  ) used to used for hill clime and sprint events . the one i have used ( did u find the pictures ok ? ) is a mk2 1.8 8v gti bodie . as regards to the tuning up , when you do any modification to your engine you should always have it re tuned (gas analyzed etc) to prvent any ignition , pre ignition or pinking etc problems . if you need any more helpmdont hesitate to pm me or reply on here
