speedo cable issue on engine swap ! please help

As i'm sure plenty of you run uprated engine in your Golf Mk1 has anyone had a speedo cable problem. ? I have fitted a five speed box to my base model 1.0l Golf Mk1 along with a 2.0l 16v ABF engine, but i want to run the original clocks which have a screw fitting on the back but the box has a push in drive end ! can not find a cable anywhere any ideas, i a'm assuming this type of cable exists as i have seen plenty of very early cone pods running on GTi boxes, many thanks if you can help or even better if you have said cable, regards John

early mk1 1.5-1.6 speedo cable is what you want if its an 020 gearbox, if its the 02a cable shift box the 1.0-1.3 speedo cable fits right on
