solenoid doors-m.o.t ?

:dontknow:  just got back from the m.o.t station today~failed for not having any handles or locks (a modification done by previous owner!)
after reading me a section from the manual it clearly stated that the drivers door had to be able to be opened from the outside and inside~mechanically? i mentioned t.v.r's and he said they were exempt as they are manufactured not modified? :banghead:
it would seriously spoil the lines off my car to add a handle not to mention paint?  8O  any suggestions please???

Have a good think about how the emergency services would open a door, if the car was involved in an accident. After this, I think you'll conclude that no exterior handle, or a hidden handle or some other kind of mechanism to open the door from the outside, is a bad idea from a safety perspective.

Apart from the obvious safety issue, no worries!

the previous m.o.t's were done by the previous owner and it wasn't something they shared any information on unfortunately?
i DO agree from the safety point off view reference a handle!
(maybe if they had spent as much effort on the electrics on this project car than they did farting around smoothing out door locks etc they wouldn't have gave up so easily ehh?? :P )
..so i guess for safety and m.o.t reason's a exterior handle is the way forward?
