slight brake binding issue. Any ideas people?

The mods: 16v master cylinder and servo, vr6 calipers mounted using brackets from caddy forum

The problem: After car warms up, cars passenger brake begins to make funny noises and vibrations when pulling off.  If i press the brake slightly noise goes away, but it continues to get worse.

What ive tried: Adjusted brake linkage bar, so at least pedal is in alignment with clutch pedal.  Brake servo pin seems fully out. return spring where it should be. Checked brake line for any kinks, no problems there.  I cleaned up and greased slider bolts on caliper.

Suspicions.  disk doesnt seem to be exactly in the centre of caliper carrier. Probably need to grind down carrier a bit more for perfect fitment.  Just a mm a or 2 max.  Maybe was better off using hubs off a 16v, are they a direct fit?

btw: does anybody know if the brake pipes have to follow any particular order going into master cylinder?  I have 4 ports.  put fronts on driver side, rears on passenger side.   Could this cause a problem?  Might also get a wire brush on angle grinder to make sure caliper isnt seizing when it expands due to the heat.  I am using copper grease already before anyone asks  :D

When you put the 16v mastre cylinder on did you cut the thread down at the back and wind the u clamp thing (can't remember what its called) right in, as when i swaped mine when the car warmed up there was too much vacuum causing the brakes to bind :dontknow:

yeah cut it so i could fit the return spring back in, and wound it right down as far as it would go.

How much of the thread did you cut off?

basically enough to clear the return spring hole, and it turns out the clevis pin wound down as far as it would go on the servo

Did you measure it in mm, and compare with the existing (stock) servo you took off? I think there's a chance you've not taken enough off, since there was a myth going round for a long time that you need to chop off 5mm. In fact, when I measured and compared with stock, I needed to remove 10mm of thread; then the clevis pin was wound fully down.

I'd take it all apart again and measure it. You can compare it against my post in the FAQ if needs be!
