Simple engine question

Will a 2L bottom end fit a kjet 1.8 head (mechanical) of so does anyone know which engine code bottom end will fit, i have heard all sorts such as the engine being taller etc, is anything greatly affected by doing this mod?

Its for a worthy mk1 project (pics up soon), any answers greatly apreachiated!

Yes the head will fit you can use a 9a block or a 6a if I remember correctly if you can,t find the info on the engine swap on here try club gti :y:

I've got a 2e tall block in one of mine, got it from a Passat at the breakers. I had to make up a spacer for the exhaust, blanking plate and plug for the breather holes and a distributor ring I bought from TSR. The cam belt cover won't fit so you have to experiment a bit with that and the throttle valve is close to the bulkhead so you may have to bend that a bit. I used the 2E headgasket The clutch bolted on with no problems. I know Passat's, Mk3 GTI's, Mk3 2.0GL's, and some Seats had this engine.  The Audi 3A 2.0L is the same height as the 1.8 but I've heard that parts are a bit scarce for them. I think you have to change the sump on the Audi engine aswell.

9a / 6a are 2ltr 16v blocks so i don't think they fit an 8v head.
