Schrick turbo kit for mk1 golf
its about 25 years old i think and includes what appears to be all the parts to carry out the conversion (what is required?).
however he cannot guarentee whether it works or and its not cheap or atleast i think not he wants about ?750 for it. Does it sound like a good deal? is their any way of checking prior to installing?, is it possible to have the turbo recondition if it needs it? :dontknow:

exhaust manifold
bolts to bolt the turbo to it
a gasket to seal that joint
oil feed and return pipes for the turbo (should go to the block)
pipework for the air from the compressor to the inlet manifold
and possibly: -
an uprated inlet manifold
uprated injectors
uprated pistons (low compression ones)
uprated head gasket (slightly thicker and capable of resisting higher pressures)
intercooler + pipework
As it's quite a lot of money, I would inspect the turbo very carefully to see if it looks ok. Watch for cracks in the turbine / compressor blades (even hairline cracks), difficulty in rotating the blades (should spin freely if you give them a twist), and oil in either the compressor or turbine housing.
If you see any of the above then I would give it a miss. You can get turbos reconditioned fairly cheaply, but you can get a reasonable condition Mk1 for ?750!
