rotor arm

a guy i work wiv was tellin me a story about his old mk1 the other day and i was jus wonderin if its true , he had a 1.6 gti back in the day when they were quite new and he changed the rotor arm for a cortina one cos it dint have a little restricting spring in it and he recons it went like stink , anyone tried it, is it true?? :dontknow:

hmmmm would let you rev it past the rev limiter yes but personaly i dont think thats a good idea besides maximum power is made lower down anyway
