Rob 'Pef' peffley's rabbit.

I love the look of this motor, wot year & model are the headlights & grill from ?

Im guessing the front panel would need to be replaced too.

Any clues ?

That particular grill looks like a custom one, I don't believe they made a debadged version of the Westy front.

There's two designs of the early westy front grill, one is slatted like the Euro mk1 grill, the other one has a square pattern and is normally refered to as 'egg carton' type.

You can find them in the states fairly easily as they don't like them and convert their rabbits to euro round lights.  I imported one of the grills last year and was going to fit it…until I realised the grills deeper so front panel needs modifying.  Would go straight on a Jetta though (with Golf wings).

The headlamp units are a standard 7x6" headlamps found on shedloads of cars in the US and Europe.  For RHD UK spec ones look for older Toyotas (MR2,  Hi-Lux etc), Jeeps (84-96 Cherokee, Wrangler and others).  For Crystal, Black tinted, 'projector' style, and other variations you can get them in the states easily, but they'll be LHD so pretty useless over here.

The Headlamp Buckets is another matter, I never sorted any out, I assume some modification is required to the headlamp mounts to fit them.

Ok the Rabbit at the top of the page belonged to a friend of mine named Rob who was killed in a motorcycle accident in August 2007. I spent a lot of time with Rob when he was building the car and i remember him building the grill for it. It was made from two factory rabbit grilles. He cut the area where the VW emblem was out of the grille and then cut a section out of another grille and plastic welded it in where the emblem use to be. It was sanded smooth and painted after that and what you see is the finished product. Hope this helps...
