Repositioning the brake master cylinder & servo?

I've seen some people have removed the servo and just installed the master cylinder but I've never read how this is done.
Obviously mk2 Golfs have the servo and master cylinder in this location and so do mk3 Polo's (to quote a few) so I would have thought someone would have tried this in the past but I cant seem to find anything.
The only other option I can see to neaten up the bay is a pedal box but I'm not too sure who does these anymore and maybe a little extreme for what I was after with my mk1.
If anyone can shed any light on the options available to neaten up this side of things in the engine bay I'd be very grateful.

I've seen that Crazy Quiffs now make them so I guess I should start saving.
I suppose I might as well do the job properly.

I've copied the following from page 5 on the link I posted
Master cylinders, you have three choices of manufacturer:
Girling
Wilwood (260-60**)
AP (CP6093 PRT110 or CP2623 PRT115)
They double in price as you go down that list! (the AP2623 are, however, beautiful pieces of kit)
For brakes I recommend starting with 0.625" (15mm) front and 0.70" rear regardless of caliper used.
For clutch I recommend 0.75" (19mm) in conjuction with large bore lines. Remember with the clutch you need to move a large volume of fluid, 3/16" lines can cause clutch drag.
For brakes bigger is NOT better. If you need more power then drop a size.
For the small stock mk1 calipers try the 0.625" on the front, if you feel you need it the CP2623 is available in 14mm bore. However with the new 6:1 pedal ratio 0.625 should be spot on.
Start with the bias bar centred and be careful who's advice you read on bias bars, theres conflicting info out there on the internet.
The use of remote or integral reserviors is up to you, I have both, just remember how flammable brake fluid is.

I would really only need the one above for my brakes to remove the servo to give me more room to route pipework and for asthetics.

Ok so MrLong you would want one that fits in the car itself and incoroporates the clutch??

No I only need one that does the brakes but the one on that link & Crazy Quiffs do the option for brakes only or brakes and hydraulic clutch. Brakes only is cheaper.
The other option I was thinking of was just a master cylinder in the bay directly linked to the pedal like Jason Buckley had on his yellow 16v (that was for sale recently).

I seem to remember that, that option doesn't give great braking power and would one of the first things he would change? I could be wrong though.
I'll make a decision at the weekend and go from there.

I skim read and thougt it was a pedal box that stays in car. I can wait a while tbh not even started on mine yet.
No it seems to go in place of the standard one but removes the need for the round servo which is causing me my current problems.

I have just out TSR 270 mm discs with standard calliper and they work better but need a servo as the brake feel is naff.
