Relocating radiator inside front panel

Just wondering whether anyone has done this mod and has any tips.  Want to do this to give me a bit more space for the 45's.

Thanks

MK2 16V rad is small try that . Not much room in front panel unless you are going to have one specially made ?

It doesn't fit…..its slightly too tall, you'd need to chop bodywork. I've done it though, so I can fit a VR6 in, and I also re-strengthened the front panel with another lip the other way round, to (over)compensate for the metal removed so it can be fitted. Also (might not be relevant for your engine) the radiator is mounted upside down, so the coolant connections are on the correct side (left side) for me, and made my own brackets to hold it in place.

Thanks for the replies, I'll have to have a good look at it to get my head around it

I looked at this when i was attempting to fit some throttle bodies, im sure it would go would just need a bit cut out the bottom, think it makes more sense than fitting a smaller rad. i may even investigate it a bit further.

I though the 16v rad is exactly the same as late mk1 GTI one....?
