REAR SEAT BELT CONVERSION
Hello
I bought a reasoanble example Mk1 convertible last year. Have spent lots of time & money making the car nice for the summer. I have small kids so would like to fit full rear seat belts rather than lap belts. Has anybody tried this or can give me useful tips?
Cheers

Just get some of the cheaper 3 point harnesses from Britax or TRS. They're a real pain if you are actually competing, but for kids they should be fine. You just need to make sure that the bulkhead behind the top of the seats is strong enough to withstand the forces from an accident.

Great, thanks very much. I'll give this a try. Just bought a repair kit for the gear linkages. Is this a simple job. A mate tell me it's quite difficult to get them lined up again after. Any advice?

I've only got a 1.3 5 door, but there's a few threads on here.

With regards to the rear seatbelts I know that the US version had the proper over shoulder type. A look through US Ebay might uncover something but I'm not sure how easy they would be to retro-fit.
