An impact gun is handy for speed, but sometimes it can 'magically' undo a nut which is past it and beyond its useful life. So sometimes it undoes the nut conveniently, but it still needs replacing.
Grinder is always useful if the breaker bar won't snap the little fella.

Its about a 50/50 chance whether the rears come out. I always check that they are free (bolt turns OK) before starting and if not order the two bolts from VW. 1/2 hr with a hacksaw gets them off
