porsche seats

bit of advice would be greatly appreciated, been offered a set of front seats from a 944 to go in my cab but i am unsure as to how much modifying these would take, would it be more hassle that it's worth

cheers

I find stock MKI rails the worst/hardest to fabricate to fit new seats on. Usually with other cars seat rails you just have a pair of parallel rails that run between the monting points……

But with MKI's the rails curve upwards from the front…and run very high up so if you plonk anyting on there it wrecks your driving position.

So i don't recommend using stock rails to mount the seats.

What you can do is buy say recaro rails for MKI's which is rare or power recaros that fit the MKI track and use the base rail from there to mount your new seat.

You can sense now that it is abit of an efford to fit seats in.

Heres a pic of my 2003 Honda TypeR recaros in my MKI using recaro sirocco seat rails. It bolted right up to my suprise.

They do sit at the sirocco height which I don't mind.

MKI ABF - Under construction.

ive got porsche seats in my golf, not alot of work aslong as you get the porsche runners which are flat and make a flat frame on top of the golf floor for which the seats to sit on. you need to weld either way.
