poly bush or diesel mount?

got my full poly bush kit, using them all apart from the bump stops and side engine mounts, but also dont know weather to use the rear poly engine mount or the diesel mount? which to go for?

My understanding is the poly is a little stiffer which translates to a bit more engine vibration which translates to a bit more road noise. Good luck

i used a diesel rear in mine - havent had it running yet - but there isn't much backwards/forward movement. which is good and shouldn't transfer vibration to the car.

I used a poly in mine, but don't have it running yet. My thoery was, that 1) protects the exhaust manifold from stress & cracking 2) prevents tyre shake, which should help traction in a high power standing start.

yea thats what i thought.
ill go with poly for know as i dont fancy cracking my 4 branch manifold as it took me ages to get it in the hole :lol:

Do you have a flexi section in it? Mine has a triangular flange, with 3 bolts which also incorporate a spring - this counts, as a flexi section.

no not at the moment as ive decied its going straight down custom chrome near me for a stainless steal exhaust, (not the cheap powerflow rubbish!!) ive allready had a word with the blokes down there and told them what i want and they are fitting a flexi straight after the 4 branch

p.s. i should of done the poly steering mounts before i fittd the 4 branch as its a bit tight  :banghead:

I used the poly mount on what was my 8v gti and by the end (about 10k miles) the captive nut was pulling out, my mate has the diesil mount on his 2ltr 16v and its too soft manifold hits under gear leaver on over run and the goround on acceleration. im fitting a g60 so im going to make a real mount up   similar tot he side ones.
