polo gt lamber sensor in a mk1??
just brought a polo gt engine and bits for a conversion into my mk1 1.3 carb!!
just looking at the wiring on the gt a obviously there would be a lamber sensor on the gt which isnt on my mk1, does anyone know what i have to do? im assuming if i leave it unplugged it wnt run right??
any help appreciated

weld a lambda bung in the down pipe and fit it simples

iv got a fourbranch goin on......does it matter how far down the exhaust it goes haha?

No, but it needs to be more or less vertical, which is going to be really difficult further on down the exhaust system. So, best on the downpipe. Why not buy a four branch with the bung already on it?

Yep, vertical on the downpipe. Have a look at where the lambda sensor is on a car that has one, for example.

okay cool, so how come the four branch i have for the gt doesnt have the bung then? is there no way around it?

ideally you want it where gasses from all 4 pots converge, otherwise you'll only be monitoring for problems on 1 or 2 pistons depending on the location of the probe and manifold design

if it's a mk3 polo four branch it should have a lambda boss…
if not then vertically just after the sump is the standard position on the polo. About 2 inches from the sump on the top I believe.
