Polish My P-Sluts

Yo.

Got a set of pirelli p-slots i'm looking to have refurbed and extremely polished, like these ones - http://www.dub-life.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?p=8282&sid=4c22311af3fec42b39c251fa2785e3e9

Was wondering if anyone knows of anywhere that will do a good job and at a reasonable price.

Thanks, Duncs.

i don't know of anywhere that do it cheap

companies charge anywhere from £70 to £100 per rim to get a mirror polished finish

not thought about having a go yourself??

also to finish the polished look you need metal centres and these cost around £200 ish if you can find some :)

Yeah mate, I've been scouting around and they all seem around the same kinda price. Bit of a nightmare when i'm trying to do as much as possible on low budget.

Looks like i will be doing it myself. Any tips on how to get it really mirror polishy(I know that's not even a word)?

I'm not so fussed about the metal centres at the moment. Just as long as I can get the main bit of the wheel done would be awesome.

to polish you need to strip as much paint of as you can

then sand the face with 180grit paper throught to 1000 grit

then polish with a buffer whee on a drill and paste

and keep going until you happy

it's a very time consuming job to do

i can supply you with the equipment to polish the wheel ;)

not sure I'd start at 180.  Suppose it depends how bad the wheels are.

Would think paint stripper then 600 or 400 grit if needed (straight on to the wet and dry) if bad maybe 320.  but would try not to go much more than that or your starting to put deep scratches in to the face making more work for yourself.

Once you get started and all the paint of and the first grade of paper out of the way it's quite quick.

Then finish with polish and wheel or G3 and mop.

Everyone seems to recommend Mike the polisher. After seeing pics of wheels hes done and reviews Id be going there. In Scotland too
