Pipercross induction kit for K jet

Has anyone fitted one of these?

if so what are your views? I will in time re-locate the battery to the boot and have the full side for a cold feed to the air intake so this could be ideal for me but i want to know if it works first.

Yes and no

Yes because it looks good and make a nice noise

No because unless you plan on mounting it completey out of the way of the engine it's very likely to reduce power even with the little reflection shield.

Think you have a little pipe going straight from fresh air to the kit then you have this great big engine which produces lots of heat which over powers the small cold air feed.

most tests are done on rolling roads where the bonnet is open allowing all heat to escape and a massive fan to blow it well clear of the induction kit.

Induction kits DO work when installed correctly :D

as said, it does help itself to warmer air from the engine bay. does sound very nice though. if you plan on relocating the battery, then go for it. i have one and do not plan on touching the battery. i'll be retro fitting the air box and a cotton gauze panel filter.

just drill 2 inch holes in the bottom of your airbox will give you the same effect as te induction kit

Yea that is one way as I've also seen and had it on a motor of my own coming out of the wing but be aware of rainy days as this can be bad news

Hi,

Sorry to hi-jack thread - so have you fitted the pipercross induction kit then? I'm struggling to work out how it fits without my original air box having to come out?? I had assumed it sat inside the air box..? Am I completely wrong here??
