HMAN205,

Hi - hope you are enjoying your Mk1  :D

My first question is - are you sure it is a Campaign?  Check out the Campaign Checks link on the left of the page.

Why do you want to convert to small lights?  I would have thought that a starting with a small light is the best way to go.  The value of the car will be impacted by putting on the wrong panel.

Finally - although there are panels out there small light ones are very very difficult to source so you might struggle.

Sorry to sound pessimistic!

Got any pictures to post?

I also agree, I wouldn't convert to small lights, if small lights are what you desire then buy a small light mk1. Also if it is a campaign I certainly wouldn't recommend it.

it has been neglected quite a bit and requires a new panel anyway thought it would look nice with the small rear lights the plan is to turn it into a bit of a track animal without ruining the originallity of the design

pics will come in time unfortunatly there isnt much to see at the mo as its tuckked in the corner of my garrage as it has no mot as of last week and wouldn't get one if i tried!

I have just run through the check list

the car is an 1983 car and i have some photos of it when it was nearly new in alpine white with the p slot alloys,
Also all the inerior trim appears correct and it did have the 4 lamp front grille , it also retains the correct fuel cap and has the green tinted glass

its vin number however is a DW not E as the checklists suggests i know the car was on a private reg at some point in its life and was re issued with its new plate about 4 years ago

so would you think this a campaign or not?

Depends on what the chassis number is - there's a band specified for the DW numbers
