Noob MK1 owner needs advice on wheels/ size?

Hi guys.

I have just bought my first MK1 GTI ,  it's a 1983 in alpine white with 4 owners and 77,000 on the clock and i bloody love it!! It has 15" BBS RA's fitted (i think from a MK2 16v??) and I personally love the look but think that they are too big for the car? or at least that they make the car look really tall at the back. Maybe it would just need lowering to achieve the the right look but i didn't want to mess with the sus too much first?!?! Also the other thing that i noticed was that the camber of the rear wheels ( when looking from behind) seem to be quite tilted in from the top, is this normal?
