hi, will mk2 electric windows fit in a mk1?

hi from my experience mk2 bits dont work well with mk1's but you can make them fit. my car when i bought it had mk2 dash and seats and both were a bit of a nightmare.
I've got a after-market set of mk1 electric windows including the instructions for fitting that i'm never going to use, they were in the car when I bought it. Electric life vk039904 for 79-83 2dr golf if you want them?

ive just spent the last two days fitting my mk1 leccy window kit into my cabrio... it all bolts up nicely but because the window is slightly weighted with an extra piece of glass it rocks back n forth.. so ive started to make a runner to stop this happening...
