need some help with turbo on 2.0 8v

hi everyone i have a mk1 with a mk3 engine in it ,engine code ADY 2.0L 8V ,i want to turbo it but dont know what parts to buy or change,still abit new to this,please if anyone cud help on a parts list and where to get it from,dont want to change engine or go 20v turbo,just want to turbo this engine.

The truth here is it probably wont happen.

Its a rather in depth kind of alteration to make to an engine thats not equipped with a turbo in the first instance, i should know, i did almost an identical conversion on a PB code 1.8 passat engine.

Parts list is going to be extensive.
Comprising of the larger parts:
Intercooler.
Turbo and wastegate( must be sized for the engine).
Ecu and wiring.
Manifold.
Injectors.
Oil cooler.
Various custom lines for oil and water feeds and returns.
Sump pan modification for oil drain from the turbo.
Low compression pistons- decompression plates are bad- avoid them.
Suitable free flow exhaust- stock item is not good enough.


A myriad of other small items and problems youll run into like siting of components can be a real headache.

If youre absolutely dead set on doing it, then get a book called maximum boost by Corky Bell, itll give you a good basic understanding of what you need to do to get a handle on it.
