My cabby...
most of you probably wont like the wheels… but they were put on brand new the week before i brought the car so it seemed a bit daft to fork out another few hundred to put sum deeps on or similar when these ones are fine. ( going to be changing to deep dish in the new year though )
any advice on what would look good? im thinking along the lines of ats cups or borbet or summit?
any advice on anything else i should know?
nice and cleannn whahayyy
( new roof too )
enjoy

I'll be honest with you. change the wheels immediately as they will only loose value when you kerb them and take the tread low, they are NASTY of the highest order.
Euro plates are okay I suppose so go for it. I'm not sure on taking the badges off and smoothing the boot lid as it's a bit who ca res for my liking. The baked bean can removal would be higher on my list as it makes the car look line a Nova ops:.
I thought about buying some of those seats for my Cabby but saw the light and got some Corrado seats instead, 'buckets' just look out of place.
Don't get M3 Lexus lights they are rough and I'm not a fan of the 'M3' lights either.
Watch the 'French' in your post as it's frowned upon by some.
How did you get your car down the steps of an pedestrian underpass?
Lastly, these are just my opinions, yours may differ.

as deceiving as they look. they are a lot comfyer than original seats,( in my eyes anyway ) ( they are fully reclinable and sliding so u can still adjust it so how u want )
i have dry stored the standard interior so i still have the original stuff for when i eventually come to sell it ( if i ever do hehe )
im still a bit unsure what to do about the boot. i like the look of the smoothed boot but part of me tells me not to do it aswell so im gonna have to think about it real hard before i do . haha
also gonna add a full set of OMP strut braces all round and sum 3 point harnesses as i am still using my standard belts up front until i get these ( hoping to see what santa brings )
doing away with the back seats too as im sick of people asking for lifts. haha as much as id like to cruise round with a car full i dont really like people in the back.
thats my taste anyway =)

thanks for all your input haha!
the picture is taken in a disused peice of land which happens to be an old industrial estate which i can get through the gate off with the mk1 being slimmer than most cars.. but its just a short bridge thats been customised by the local drop outs i guess but sure does look good when ur under there. so no steps to roll down haha!
but yeh im not too keen on the wheels my self even though i own the thing. but like i sed up top i didnt wanna start wasting a fair amount of cash straight away on it when they were brand new when i had to pay for my insurance n stuff which seemed the right thing to do at the time but its coming on to how i want it slowly and surely.
got rear disk brakes going on in the next month or so.
managed to get hold of the parts of sum guy breaking a mk2 gti so done well in that one.
any links or ote going for different rear lights etc?
only seen the ones on ebay which i have a feeling are the m3 style..
( crystal at top and red at bottom ) ??

Hi mate, check out my cabby, its in the for sale section, se link below, that got clear lights on it, I'm not sure personally, but you'll get an idea of how they look from it..
Great location for photo's…
I agree with Tian tho, buckets are for tintops, cabby's look better with more standard interior imo

I too would lose the rims..there a bit ……Beetle? they remind me of old aircooled Empi wheels for some reason………
You cant go wrong with some BBS rims of some sort……..i wouldnt put any bigger than a 15 inch rim on as it looks daft………go for a 7.5 or 8j wide on 15`s and it will look perfect 8)

avoid making it look fast unless it actually is. you will look a tit in your bucket seat and 3 pt harness when a ned in a 2.0 corsa smokes you at the lights, time and time again…
the wheels are quite cool, but not on the cab.
regarding the boot.. theres nothing original left you can do to the car, other than leave it alone, keep it clean and as close to stock as possible, relatively speaking theres not many of these cars left, think of it as an investment.
pretty boring, sorry :dontknow:
p.s my dragon green cab was completely standard (including lights) except for single light grille and lowered about 100mm on coilovers and it looked brilliant, the only people who really appreciate these cars are fans of the marque and if your looking from appreciation from these people (which you should ) you will get more if you have been kind to your car. Who gives a snot what the average Max power reader thinks about the beautiful ,classic, Karmann built Golf Cabriolet.

( bearing in mind the tilt lever had snapped so ever time u accelerated u just tipped right back in your seat with ur rear end nearly on the floor haha )
and as for the 2.0 corsa beating me i cant let that happen can i =( not a vauxhalll! nooooo.
but appreciate all your views, least i know what others see it as and i do want to impress so maybe i will ditch some of the idea's
but deffo going to be changing the wheels next year and i think im gonna stick with a un smoothed boot. might just get new badges to brighten them up a bit cus they are a bit scuffed and faded.
