mounting seat ibiza cable change shifter to mk1 help?....

hello all, i have a seat ibiza cable change shifter that needs mounting in my golf, does anyone have any experience of this? is it mounted from underneath or above? can i avoid cutting a bigger hole around the standard gap

hello mate if you have a look at some of the 20v conversions on here it might give you a bit of help but i think you bolt it on the underside of the car

Plop it in from the top , drill suitable holes through the bulkhead to take the cables so they pass under the center consul and out in to the engine bay .

You could also mount underneath [we do this on the MK2 ] but room is very tight on the Mk1 with larger exhaust .
