More power

Just bought myself a '81 Gli Cabby…….

Goes far better than my 1200 Beetle but was wondering what sort of engine mods are out there for this engine??

What power and torque are you looking for and how much do you want to spend? The 1.6 is already well tuned and there is not a lot more you can do with it to obtain a great deal more power without increasing the capacity. You can do the normal stuff like gas flow the head, performance exhaust and filter and longer duration cam but you can only get around 20-25 bhp. Speak to someone like TSR who have experience of this engine and can supply parts.
