more on how 2 do my 20vt conversion?

hi every1 out there im now tryin 2 sort parts out for my 20v conversion. im using a mk2 16v gearbox and was woundering if i can just use the mk2 gear linkage and atatch it 2 the rod thats used on the mk1 or is there a different way you have to do it? and what clutch and flywheel would be best to use? thanks james

You can't use a Mk2 linkage on a Mk1.

as above, use mk1 cab/tintop 1.5-1.8 5 speed linkages on the mk2 box

use mk1 linkage but you will have to bend the flat bar down to miss the actuator

cheers every1. bens_cab would you be able to give me a price on the megasquirt ecu and loom please? does it make much difference that my golf is originaly a 1.1c non injection?

no as long as you have an efi fuel pump its all good for the ecu email eddie below

vauxall vectra anything efi or a standard mk1 pump will do

MK3 polo GT or G40 works too, in fact get the lot off it as it has a lift pump that fits, a swirl pot to prevent fuel starvation and plastic fuel lines that dont corrode. all fit pretty nicely on a MK1 as well
