More grunt from my 1.8

Hello All. Quite new here but worth a punt I thought

I have a rare beast - a 1.8L Petrol T4 transporter. Engine code PD

Engine's been converted to run on LPG as well as petrol and the carb (2E3 original) has also been changed to a Weber DMTL.

No surprise she's a little underpowered, especially on the hills. So some easy ways to get some more grunt would be appreciated.

Engine swap will happen one day when my current block starts to fade but it's still nice and solid at the moment.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

First thought is, why did you buy a van with an engine your not happy with?

Long term project, labour of love and I am happy with it but a little more oomph wouldn't go amiss.

I fall into the silly mileage bracket so when I bought the van I was looking for a petrol (for LPG conversion), low mileage, rock solid body and within my price range. Not easy to find a T4 with those restrictions and scene tax! It's doen everything I've asked of thus far and not given me any real grief.

I've been very busy converting, pimping etc. and I still have a long way to go. Absolutely no intentions of selling or what have you. It's been a great leaning curve too. Many an hour with the my head buried under, in around the thing.

The intention is to keep it and build on what I have. The possibilities for change / alterations and stuff in the thing is absolutely frightening and I must say ever so slightly addictive

As weight is your enemy here i believe, how about a 2 ltr conversion.

Agreed. In the future for sure. I may even go the full hog and consider an ABF 16v jobby. Suicide but hey!

Anything I could do in the short term though? Completely new to the idea of remaps, and specific tuning or mods that could be done.
