20vt

Hi mate

im going with a 20v turbo engine which is as good as it gets depending on which one you get cost is always an issue all depends on how much cash you have

i can do the 20v turbo conversion for ?4000 which is cheap when you look at tsr and other places

or 16 valve which can be made to be quick do that for about ?1300

Never tryed carb to injection conversion. I think you would need the fuel pump plus all the stuff like the airflow meter and injection system. Then on top a load of wiring.  I myself have a 2lt mk3 gti engine which I paid ?100 quid for (as yet to fit). The reson for the mk2 head is that you could retain your exhaust mainfold without modding the exhaust downpipies plus if its a carb 1.8 head. Then theres no need for injection.
You also got to change the mk3 flywheel to suit what ever gearbox your using plus you'II have to get a spacer ring made to fit your mk1 dizzy to the mk3 block.
