MKII Dash Into a MKI - Coming Soon
I am just at the beginning of swapping a decent MKII dash into my Cabby, I will write it up with pics in case anyone else is daft enough to bother.

More power to ya for taking the time to document and display your work, but you might want to save yourself some time and search the Internet. I have seen a very good and detailed conversion posted, pictures, drawings, hints, etc., somewhere on the net (I think VWVortex). It can't hurt to have a second detailed piece written up, just like a second opinion from doctors, but you might want to look there first. Not wanting to burst your bubble, just inform you of one already that exists.

No bubbles burst.... I have read a few of them, some very good, some not so good..... I just like to document the work, never know when you might find something new.

Have to confess that I didn't read your original post with enough care. You state "dash" and the write-up I was refering to was just a detailed one for the instruments. Upon thinking about doing a dash, would the lenght not be too long? I know mk3 dashes were trimmed and installed in mk2 cars, but the mk1 is a bit smaller.

Been done in Cabbys a number of times. Local guy is just finishing his, and it seems to fit ok (although it does need a little trimming). You can't use the lower half of the dash, but it fits with the knee bar with some work. Window crank problems, as you might expect, but I am game to see how it goes.
