surely they aren't mk5 fitment either?

Massive PCD on those, custom hub-centric adaptors likely the best way forward.

AFAIK Mk5 uses independent multi-link rear suspension, and the discs at the back are not the same as eg Mk2 GTI 16 discs (which can be fitted to a Mk1 with the relevant stub axle and other components) - so the rears will be a headache. The front hubs I suspect, are completely different geometry so even if the bolt on items (suspension strut, ball joint, track rod) simply fitted, the hub would be wrong. Then you might need to use a different length driveshaft and no doubt the Mk5 outer CVJ.

5 stud wheels are best fitted by converting the existing Mk1 hubs and rear drums to 5 stud, which can be done but is a task for an engineering shop rather than DIY. Unless you have a milling machine or lathe and know the dimensions, etc to set it up to.

Impossible to say off a small pic on photobucket, but they look like 5x130 which is an old VW Beetle or Camper or something, or Merc.
