mk3 dash iinto mk1

Hi everyone has anyone tried to fit a mk3 or mk4 dash int a mk 1 gti cab if so how easy is it i am fairly good with the spanners but not sure if it is worth the agro but might look a little different  :dontknow:

I'm sure someone has done it.  Even saw an Audi TT dash in a users mk1 a fair while ago  :D … hopefully someone will be along to help you soon.

go on the vw caddy forum and look up the build thread for admin al vr6 caddy- he put a mk3 dash into his mk1 caddy, i think he put a full build thread up on it! :wink:

vento mike on club gti put a mk4 dash into his mk1.  Think it is a heck of a job to get it to fit right as the mk4 is quite a bit bigger than a little mk1!

The MKIII into the MKI is not that tough, but you have issues with the window cranks.... as they end up very close to the dash. Power windows solves that.

Adaptorman off here put one in his caddy, looks ok aswell but seems like you will have to move your gearstick back a little

That's a mk4 polo dash which fits reasonably well to start, width is about right, its just a little too deep, the steering wheel ends up a bit too close to the dash.

yearh im ripping it now now as well as the r32t , due to baby here ..,i now plan to leave it 4wd but add a diesal and a mk1 tt dash but carnt any (how to chop the dash to get it in )without knackering it up
