Same mounts as you already have in the Mk1. Check that the 3 studs (or at least, the threaded holes) are there around the diff, so you can fit the Mk1 rear mount.

mk2 into mk1

hi,

l recently fitted a mk2 box into my mk1 caddy, what do you want first….the good news….the linkages are the same, the rear mount is the same….BUT…here`s the rub…the top mount can be different. :banghead:

for example; if your old mount bolts (x4) down onto the top of the box if it`s a 4spd, you`ll maybe find that the mk2 bolts (x2) thro` the alloy 5th gear end piece then the mount runs onto the chassis leg. :dontknow:

You will have a problem getting the right mount for this, cos l discovered there was only one available in scotland, there is a way around it though  :)  just to avoid any hassles, l`d suggest getting another existing mount, and have a plate welded to it so that the mount fits across the alloy end as intended, just make sure the metal is up to the job.

hope this helps.

if life was meant to be easy l`d be on an island with…..my mk1 and penelope cruz…
