mk1 with 16v distributer?

hi iv got a mk1 with the mk2 16v engine in it and the brake servo is in the way of the distributer cap any suggestions? thanks guys

Hi ,sorry photos are not great ,but I have used a remote reservoir to get round the problem

I think people use an audi distributor, or even just a modified audi cap to get around this. The cap is sort of an L shape with the leads sitting at 90 degrees to the distributor.

It fits using the stock distributor cap if you use the 16V servo and reservoir and turn the reservoir the other way round. Also you'd need to arrange for the hydraulic pipes to only come out the left and use T pieces, etc (and block the outlets on the right):

A mk3 16v distributor cap can also be modified to fit 16v distributor. this has the advantage of the leads coming from the side of cap instead of top which gives a bit more clearance.

Peugout 205 dissy cap also fits 100% and the holes for the leads sit on the sides.  :wink:
