Wouldn't it be alot cheaper and easier to bolt a block measuring the hight you want to the top of the wishbone then bolt the ball joint to the top of that ???? Thats what I'm planning on doing. It deffo aint gonna cost me 100 notes.

There are very high forces acting on the joint so I don't think it is just a case of bolting a block on else it would have been done by now… Go ahead and give it a go and if it works let us all know but after a few potholes I feel it could be a whole lot more than ?100 notes you need to spend :dontknow:

Woza are you buying for a race car, if not and your worried about a few pot holes then you need to read this, taken from the GTI thread

A note of caution; these parts are designed for racing applications, and have been satisfactorily tested in
SCCA road racing and solo events. They have not been tested in street conditions such as dropping a wheel into a pot hole, or running into a curb. These are the type of events that we have no way of predicting, and therefore can give no warranty or accept any liability for these types of events.

Yes I saw that. It will be for a road car used on the track. If they can stand up to the stresses of racing I think they should be ok on the road too… We'll see!

The idea of this mod is to lower the ball joint to give near standard suspension angles. If you move the ball joint back up to it's original position at the bottom of the strut, you are back where you started. You want it to be nearer the road so that the suspension is working as it would on a standard ride height car.
