mk1 seats...

Hi all
can anyone tell me if the seats from a 51 plate polo 99-2001 fit into the mk1 as the sliding  mechanism at the front of the seats looks very much the same.
and also why when i'm stuck in traffic at gypsy corner on the a40 white city there always seems to be a shoe/trainer lying in the curb?  :mrgreen:

you can make anything fit

Easyest option is to bolt the seat to the mk1 subframe, others use after market subframes, cobra etc.
