mk1.....open air?

ive been offered the mechanism, roof an all the ancilliries that go with it cheap from a guy breaking a polo open air?

now how hard would it be to install this in a mk1 there any guides out there?

wot got me thinking was seeing pics of the pale blue one with the wabasto roof! no which one i mean?

Ive got a Webasto in my golf,its awesome,would def recommend it for those summer days!

if u dont mind me asking how much did the wabasto cost cos the open air ive been offered is less thn a ton which i thought was reali cheap but would it fit?

I dont actually know,mines was factory fitted when it was originally bought and i cant believe the condition its in,looks brand new and works perfect!Theres a webasto for a e type on ebay just now at 99p and ends in 2 days.You can fit any kindve sunroof like thsat to most cars.In golf + i think it was a while back a guy fitted a similar roof from an XR2 or summin.All your doing is chopping a hole in the roof,fittin the frame and ther you go.Since the sunroof is material and your basically covering the hole you dont have to worry bout the metal your chopping out.

Do a search on 'chudd' He took a Fiat webasto type roof and fitted to his MK1. Did a cracking job too and his thread was full of pics :wink:

looks soo good aswell onli thing i could say is i want one that opens further the fiat one seems abit short? surly the polo open air one will be quite abit longer?
