MK1 Honda Type R Engine Swap

Saw this a while back , can anyone supply links to threads or details about this car? Ideally someone on here has the blokes number!

Thanks in advance.

why such interest in a VERY complicated transplant? a type R is around 200bhp and isnt designed to go anywhere near a golf. a VW 2.8 VR6 is (i think) around the 190bhp and although complicated, will be a damn sight easier and cheaper to fit.

If you want to try something different what about R32 or dare i say it, W12? (not the face, please not the face!)

Or….. what about the Audi RS4 (if you're loaded go RS6) engine?

jim at racepower motorsport sugested to me a while ago that all the type r's he had on the rollers wouldn't make 200bhp (in standard trim anyhow). he reckoned 185-190 realistically. had one only that produced 195. never had the pleasure of driving one myself, but i'd imagine the cost of the conversion could well be alot more than a g60 conversion or even a trick 2.0 16v

If I were going to choose a non-VW engine, which needed custom gearchange linkage, driveshafts, exhaust manifold and system, and lots of electrical adaption, I'd choose something a little more fun than another manufacturer's 2 litre:
