Mk1 Golf G60 Conversion, I need help please

Hi All,

Probably my 2nd or 3rd post on the forum. But its going to be the start of many I'm sure. As I've just brought an G60 mk1 Golf unfinished project. Still plenty of things to do.

Where to start. lol

I'm lead to believe that I've got the G60 Gearbox with the engine. Now after reading a few threads most G60 conversions seem to use mk3 Golf gearboxs?? I'm trying to connect the gear slector. But the exhaust seems to be in the way. Plus I take it I'm going to have to adapt the gear slector unit to fit it to the car??

I need to fit the gear slector fairly promptly as I don't have a handbrake and the car can be moved easily.

Any help would be great
