mk1 golf 16v conversion..help!

hi. got a mk1 golf cab 1.6 gl, going to be converting to 2l 16v as soon as an engine comes available, so my questions are.... are the mounts the same?, do i need to use a specific gearbox? heard about hydraulic and cable change. im going to be running euro 14s so should i use the short block? and also what brakes would be best under 14s? thanks for anyones input!!

Not sure about engine but… there's a set of audi 80 256mm brakes available in the parts for sale section at the moment.

I have this setup on my mk1 with the std servo and mc, works a treat and once you've bled the system and adjusted the rear drums you have a good peddle as well.

Oh, they'll fit under 14's as well.
