Mk1 Golf 1.3 Mint Shell to 1.8t

Good afternoon,

I have a mint Mk1 Golf 1.3 Driver 1983 A reg, but I am seriously considering 1.8t'ing it.

I know it's a bit more tricky than starting with a regular GTI including:

Moving engine mount
Adding fuel pump
Gear linkages??
Upgrading brakes
Fuel lines?

What would be the biggest problems with doing this conversion.

I know it's not going to be cheap, and I don't like cutting corners.

I done a 1.8t swap last year and if you have the cash around ?2500 it is very straight foward, any competent person can do it

most things can be bought off the shelf

Was your's a 1.3 or GTI to start with?

It was a 1500 ls series 1
