Mk1 driver front disk setup
i have just brought a golf driver mk1. what sort of front disk setup can i go for? i have heard that a mk2 gti setup is good. i am off to the scrap yard tomorrow so any help would be greatful.

The Spacing between Carrier to Hub mounting bolts is different on mk2s to mk1s. Hence the need for using Audi carriers.

The best thing to do is put say a golf GX front calipers and carriers on,thats what i did to my diesel,then i put vented discs on and gti pads(thinner material) the gti and the gx use same calipers,vw type 2, the only difference is the thickness of the pad to match the thickness of the disc
ie solid 12mm disc and standard fat pads or vented disc with skinny pads
