Mk1 Cabby KR conversion engine mount
Hi
I am putting my KR in my cabby, I would like a couple of questions answered if poss.
I have heared in the past (but cant find it now) that I will need to weld an engine mount on, will I?? if so which one and where.
Can I use my existing driveshafts??
Anything else I need to know before droping it in.
Many thanks
Paul

Im guessing your car had a big block engine ie 1.6 or 1.8 fitted before as standard? If so and providing its the same mountings as a standard tin top big block engine it should have 3 mountings all together and 1 torque absorber which is on the lower front panel. You should find 1 engine mounting attaching the cam belt side of the engine to the drivers side chassis leg, 1 underneathe to the rear which is held by the gearbox to the front floorpan of your car, and the top gearbox mounting. If its the same just simply swap all your old mountings onto the new engine and that should be it mounting wise I think, simples! Dont forget to fit new rubber mounting bushes while the engine is out of the car too.
