Mk1 8v microtech injection

heys guys,

aussie newbie!!! yeehaa! daily driver: 78Mk1 2door. Project: Locost clubman 20vITB,,, yih!  8O

Im trying to graft a microtech d4 managing standard mk2 injectors into my mk1 8v. I have a mk2 inlet manifold which i am considering machining through nice and close to the head and inserting the injector collars into,,, fuel rail attached as required. Everything else is sorted just dont wish to swap heads…   :?

Whats your 2cents lads and lasses? will it work or will the spray be too far from inlet and possibly interupt air flow?

any response much appreciated

I've not heard of this being done before, but that's not to say it's a bad idea…

Have you looked on Club GTI or VW Vortex? These guys are more serious about their mods so you may find someone there who's already done it.

The only potential problem I can see would be sealing the original injector holes in the Mk1 head - have you got this covered already?

Mk2 Golf used mechanical fuel injection, so its injectors are not much use for an aftermarket electronic management system. I believe most people seek out the 1.8 20vT fuel rail which has electrically-activated injectors.

Mk2's only use mechanical inj for the k-jet ones, later ones use Digifant which is electronic.
