mk1 5 door golf
hey guys iam a new man to the vw scene always loved the mk1s and i have just got my hands on one, the engine is goosed, i just wonderd could you guys tell me the best way to go on another engine, i not wanting heaps of work or to spend heaps, think its just going to be a track day beast,
any help would be great

u could choose the KR (139cp) in the begining then u could upgrade it….
if you're engine now is over 1.6 then the KR is PLUG and PLAY otherwise u must weld the right mount (passenger side) a little bit forward…..

hi think its a 1.1 at the mo, was thinking about a 1.8 carb does anyone know how hard it is to fit and what all needs done and what vw have this engine,, all help is apricated thanks

yes you need to remove the engine mount on the driver's side chassis rail and move it back as the 1.5,1.6,1.8 engines are in a different position to the 1.1,1.3's
Other than that its not hard at all (figuratively speaking) with all the components being available to steal from other models such as fueling setup brakes etc.
