Hey Ben Cheers,

Hows Things mate?

I tried ebay previously for the mount and found one and posted it here for others, I recieved a reply from someone telling me that they had not recieved it, so i got a bit concerned.

As for the cam belt stud do i need to tighten it right into the engine block or not, mainly to allow enough threads for the nut to go on the other end to secure the tensioner??

Cheers

if you get a long ish bolt it will only go in so far so you should be able to work out the lengh of the bolt needed i just used a long bolt then cut it and filed it until i was happy

kool, do you think it would matter if the bolt has threads all the way up? I measured the bolt from the original 20vt tensioner and it was 51/2" + proberly the 8mm extra to create the correct clearence, do you think this would do the job if i got a bolt of this size?

Hey Vman,
It was me that ordered the mount off ebay.  It took just under 5 weeks to arrive after I clicked 'buy it now' showing 5 available.  Their customer service is outright terrible and the product is about a 6 out of 10. It seems to be ok but compared to the picture on the caddy forum website it looks nowhere near as good.  The welds are alright but there is not as much support holding the mount to the backing plate.  I'm sure it will do the job fine but then again I'm not building a show car.

Hey Guys!!!

Good news I picked up the mount from the sorting office today and frankly I cant say even one bad thing about it, the build quality looks great, all the nuts and bolts are there and its been sprayed black!

Bearing in mind I havent mounted it to the block as of yet but am itching to do so

Starting to feel nervous!!!

Will post some pics of it as soon as I find my digi cam, as it seems to have gone awol!

8mm billet alloy spacers

I had some made up from billet alloy. They are cnc cut and are specially made for this job, instead of washers or a bolt. You can use a kr stud with loads of threadlock…..go to VAG and order the stud with the lock washer and nut….

You can have one for a tenner delivered…..

Good luck with the install btw.
