mk1 16v

hi ive just bought a mk2 16v to convert my mk1 i was woundering what i will need to take off the car eg fuel pump ??? for the conversion and what i will need to get ???

Hi,

The main bits are:

-Engine + all ancillaries (duh)
-Gear box (100mm driveshafts required for the mk1 though)
-Ignition system inc. dissy, ecu, TCI, loom, coil etc.
-Fuel inj. system (the pump is not essential, but useful as a spare!)
-Wiring Loom (only required if you're planning on using the 16v ISV, but is worth keeping for spare sections/connectors etc..)
-Exhaust manifold (has top be modified, conversion manifold is the best option!).

Its also worth keeping sections of the exhaust as these may help later. Just keep anything you make think is usueful! If the car has an original 16v rad (bar and plate type), this is worth fitting to the mk1.

get in touch with manicgti, hes a member on here, sent me loads of stuff which is helping me prepare mine for the swap, just browse the members list, or if i can help ill try, hope it goes well,
got all my bits just need to swap it now,
