mk1 16v turbo??

hi all advice much needed,i have a REGTIENGERNEERING 1900, in my mk1 but im wondering is there anyway of adding a turbo converstion to it? can it be done? has anyone done it? and what are the power gains and the exspense? ive seen lots of 16v turbos on various sites e.g youtube just have no idea how to go about it, any help gratefully welcomed, cheers shadey  8)

can be done using k-jet by utilising ur quattro wur and using a vacuum canister from the same. crude, but it'll work. biggest issue is compression ratio. forged pistons are probably the ideal, thoughyanks have been using 2.0 8v bellies with valver heads and running decent power reliably, or there is the stacked gasket option. vw vortex would be a good site to visit for info. power increase depends on the spec as does cost.
