Ok I have done all this so how do i now determine the firing order and what do i do if the car is not starting up properly?
Been hearing something about the TDC having to be set. Is this correct?

just got mine running mate the dizzy cap im using is off a 2.0 16v 9a passat and it points up so it misses the brake servo and that has the normal leads on it .i think the firing order is 1342 and it goes clock wise . but double check that i might be wrong
think thats the one that my mates running in his mk1 but hes got a diff.alternator to my 16v one(basically whole audi effort which runs same-ish set up)

The car was fine prior to the service so it cant be anything major.
